His Majesty's Hostage - Volume 3 - Chapter 27

Chapter 90 - Capture

When ZiLi groggily woke up, he found himself curled up in a dark, narrow space. The rumbling sound and the constantly vibrating walls made him realize that he was in a box that was moving quickly.

I have been kidnapped?!

With his limbs unable to stretch, limp and curled into a ball, ZiLi exerted his strength to shake his still somewhat dizzy head, feeling miserable as he thought to himself.

Who kidnapped me? What is their purpose? Do they want a ransom? Or are they going to kill me?

As he was lost in these wild thoughts, he suddenly felt the box slow down and faintly heard voices outside.

“Stop the carriage! What are you doing with so many boxes and chests?”

“Officer, we are traveling merchants. These boxes are filled with small and insignificant goods!”

“Whether they are goods or not, we can only know after checking! Open the boxes!”

*Creak, Clack, Clunk* The sound of boxes being opened got closer and closer and ZiLi felt a noise above him. The lid was opened, but the expected light did not appear.

After checking the fabrics in the box and finding nothing unusual, the city guard slammed the lid shut and waved his hand impatiently, saying, “Go ahead, don’t block the way here!”

“Yes, yes, thank you, officer!”

Unable to speak and devoid of any strength, ZiLi could only stay in the carriage as it set off once more.

He had no idea how long it had been. Just as ZiLi felt he might suffocate, the carriage with the box finally stopped. Then he heard the lid being lifted and the partition being removed. The long-missed fresh air and soft moonlight immediately filled the space, quickly alleviating his dizziness and chest tightness.

The person above looked down with a ridiculing gaze at ZiLi, who was curled up at the bottom of the box like a little kitten, and spoke in a frivolous tone, “Hey, little thing, you look pretty uncomfortable. Need some help? How about this big brother carries you out?”

ZiLi tiredly lifted his drooping eyelids and glared at the man angrily. However, his weak glare seemed more like a lazy glance to the man, making him look even more like a lazy kitten!

“Heh, truly a cute little thing!” The man smiled like a pervert, and stroking ZiLi’s face a couple of times, he reached out to pull ZiLi out.

They were out in the wilderness, where a group of so-called merchants had already skillfully set up simple tents. The man carried ZiLi under his arm to a campfire and sat down. Then he pulled a small bottle from his lapel, waving it under ZiLi’s nose. The sharp fumes made ZiLi sneeze several times, and soon after, he noticed that his limp limbs were gradually regaining strength!

“You all…… who are you?” ZiLi asked, panting as he tried to push away the man who was smiling like a fox.

“The people who kidnapped you!” the man said with an innocent look on his face.

“Why did you kidnap me?” ZiLi angrily gritted his teeth, glaring at him with hatred.

“Well……” He pretended to scratch his chin in thought. “We’re just doing this for someone else! Sigh, we risked our lives for just a few taels of silver, and on top of that, we’re being hated for it. It’s really not easy!” He shook his head pretentiously as he spoke.

“Who hired you all to kidnap me?” Ignoring his nonsense, ZiLi asked the key question.

“Heh heh , little thing, you want to know?” He suddenly leaned in and pointed to his own face with a smile. “How about this, let’s make a deal! Kiss me, and I’ll tell you!”

ZiLi angrily raised his hand to slap him, but before he could touch the man’s face, his wrist was caught. “The little thing is angry, but you look so interesting when you’re mad!”

“Get lost!”

“Tsk tsk, don’t be angry, you’ll get ugly if you’re angry!”

“……”

In the following days, ZiLi no longer had to curl up at the bottom of the box. However, compared to his current situation, he would rather choose the former. The reason was simple. Imagine a grown man being turned into the appearance of a dainty and delicate girl, leaning cute and helpless against that fox-like man’s chest. It was enough to make ZiLi’s blood boil, yet his inability to move or speak only made the situation even more infuriating, especially when the person behind him took the opportunity to take advantage of him.

“Little thing, are you angry again? Come on, tell me who made you unhappy, and I’ll teach them a lesson for you!”

Then go ahead and poke a few holes in yourself!

“Oh, looking at me with such a deep gaze, could it be that you have fallen in love with me?”

Go to hell, love, my ass! One day, I’m going to beat that face you think is so handsome into a swollen pig’s head!

“Tsk tsk, such beautiful eyes. Just looking at them makes one want to do something bad!”

Ignore him. Damn pervert, take your hand off my waist!

This group of kidnappers, posing as a traveling newlywed rich Young Lord and his entourage, passed through checkpoint after checkpoint without a hitch.

“Where exactly…… are you all taking me?”

“Little thing, don’t worry, you will find out soon!”

About five or six days had passed since ZiLi was kidnapped when the group of kidnappers finally stopped in front of a mountain shrouded in clouds and mist.

“All right, little thing, we have finally reached our destination! It’s time for us to part! Sniffle, I’m really going to miss you. Little thing, you are going to miss me too, right? Then how about a kiss before we part?”

Seeing the other’s lips getting closer and closer, ZiLi had a strong urge to throw a punch at the man, but unfortunately his hands and feet were so weak that he could not even touch a single strand of the other’s hair.

“Please hand him over to us!” A monotone voice interrupted just in time.

ZiLi looked excitedly at the two expressionless burly men in front of him, thinking they were extremely lovely!

The fox-like man let out an almost inaudible sigh of regret, put away the careless expression on his face, and carried ZiLi off the carriage. He then walked toward the two men in front of him. As he let go, he suddenly leaned close to ZiLi’s ear and whispered, “Little thing, my name is Cheng. Remember it! Hope to see you again!”

ZiLi uneasily watched this group ride away. Although they were kidnappers, compared to the unknown mastermind behind the scenes, ZiLi felt much safer in their hands!

The two burly men carrying ZiLi used their Qinggong to follow the path up the mountain, quickly reaching halfway up. Just when ZiLi thought they would continue along the path, he saw them push off the ground and leap onto a moderately tall rock wall to the left. Below was a swirling sea of mist, its unfathomable depths making ZiLi’s scalp tingle with fear. As he wondered why the two had jumped onto the cliff, he suddenly realized that the burly man carrying him was already in midair, and falling straight down.

Ah, why are you jumping off a cliff! If you want to jump, jump yourself! Why drag me along? I’m dead, I’m going to die! Hong Xu, I’m going to die!

ZiLi closed his eyes, waiting for the moment he would be smashed to pieces, but the expected pain did not come. Suspicious, he opened his eyes and was immediately dumbfounded!

This, this is too amazing! They had already landed steadily on the ground, and in front of them was an elegant and unique wooden house!

1 ! Wow, a wooden house hidden at the bottom of a cliff! No, wait, this is clearly a cliff, how did we get to the bottom so fast?
ZiLi lifted his head with difficulty and what he saw gave him a fright. It was indeed a cliff! Behind them was a bottomless, pitch-black abyss that looked like the mouth of a monster, and their landing spot was a protruding rock ledge from another mountain! This is absolutely ingenious! Anyone unfamiliar with this terrain will definitely fall straight into the abyss. And if they happened to notice a platform, complete with a house, mid-fall, they sure will be shocked!

When they pushed open the door, ZiLi saw that the furniture was in place and spotless, looking well-maintained. The strong men placed him on the couch, then, to ZiLi’s surprise, left.

Hey, don’t go! You all inexplicably brought me here, and now you’re just leaving? Hey, don’t go, don't leave me alone here, it’s so scary!

Just as he was about to cry, he suddenly saw a delicate and pretty girl walk in. She bowed expressionlessly to ZiLi and said, “This servant, An Qi, greets the Young Lord! From now on, this servant will take care of your daily needs!”

After speaking, she walked up to ZiLi and took out a bottle, which was just like the one the fox-like man had, waving it under his nose!

“……Can you tell me what exactly is going on?” ZiLi asked softly, holding back his urge to explode.

An Qi silently stared at ZiLi, clearly wearing an expression that said, ‘I can’t tell you’.

ZiLi clenched his fists and asked softly again, “……Then can I know who brought me here?”

“……The Young Lord will know soon, my master is already on his way!” After being stared at relentlessly by ZiLi for a while, An Qi had no choice but to answer.

“Good, very good!” ZiLi said through gritted teeth. If that person came, he would definitely strangle him to death!

“The Young Lord must be hungry! This servant has prepared some food, let me bring it to the Young Lord at once!”

ZiLi squinted at the food she placed on the table. She wants me to eat? Who knows if it’s poisoned?

“Rest assured, Young Lord! The food is not poisoned!” An Qi said without even looking up.

Wow, is she a witch, she can even tell what I’m thinking.
